Sheinelle Jones took to Instagram to explain that she is taking a temporary break from NBC’s "Today" show to address a family health matter.
Sheinelle has been working on the TODAY show since 2014. She surpassed her 10-year work anniversary with NBC in 2024.
However, concern grew after she was absent from Hoda Kotb’s last show as an anchor and Craig Melvin’s first. Several comments left on the “Today” show’s Instagram page inquired as to where she was. “Where in the world is Sheinelle? Why has she missed out on the great moments with Hoda and Craig,” one fan asked.
Jones has been with Today since October 2014 when she joined the show as part of Weekend Today. She became the co-host of 3rd Hour Today in January 2019, giving her a six-day work schedule as she continued to co-anchor Weekend Today on Saturdays. She left the weekend show in December 2019.
Sheinelle is married to her husband, Uche Ojeh, and the love birds have been married since 2007. The two met at Northwestern University and Sheinelle candidly shared on Today, “I can’t even believe I’m admitting this — I was actually his tour guide when he was a senior in high school. I was like, ‘what a kind, polite, cute guy.'”
